From Ancient Greek νυχθήμερον (nukhthḗmeron), noun use of the neuter singular form of νυχθήμερος (nukhthḗmeros, “lasting a day and night”), from νύξ (núx, “night”) + ἡμέρα (hēméra, “day”).
